The Mulliner division will celebrate Bentley's 100th anniversary next year with the release of a Mulsanne special edition. It pays homage to the company's founder father, W.O. Bentley and includes a piece of one of his personal cars.
The special model, which can be ordered on either a long-wheelbase or regular-wheelbase Mulsanne or Mulsanne Speed, was inspired by the 1930 8 Litre Bentley that W.O. The 1930 8 Litre Bentley that W.O. The influence of this car can be seen in the interior. For example, a Mulliner illuminated bar cabinet comes with a display with a piece of the 8 Litre crankshaft displaying inside.
W.O. is emblazoned in a B-shaped photoetched air vent on the chrome-colored application that runs along the back side of the vehicle. The front grille is modeled after 1930s-appropriate Onyx, and there's a chrome cladding around the lower spoilers on the left and right. The front grille is unique, featuring the chrome-colored shell instead of the usual body-color mesh like that of the standard Mulsanne and including the Flying B logo as well.
The key box is engraved with Bentley wings and is fitted with the lining of black flock. Individual key pouches can be bought to match or contrast the key box. The set is commemorative and includes a 1:18 scale model and a flying "B" paperweight. The set also comes with an illustrated booklet that features never-before seen images of the original 1930s Bentley 8 Litre.
